ANNUAL MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
AMC terms
These terms are the Annual Maintenance Contract (“AMC”) between you and Volt_Tronic when you add maintenance at checkout. They sit with the Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Returns and Refunds Policy.
1. The contract
The AMC is optional. You can buy the product without it. Adding it at checkout, and accepting the Terms for that order, is your acceptance of this contract for every product in that order. The contracting party is [legal entity name]. Support: [email protected].
The AMC is a contract for repair of covered internal faults at a named service centre, paid only after Volt_Tronic has approved that repair in writing. Volt_Tronic provides the account, the plan and the decision on a claim. It does not manufacture the product and it does not itself open or repair the appliance. A manufacturing defect is first a matter for the brand warranty. A delay at a service centre is not a promised repair date.
2. No doorstep service
Volt_Tronic does not provide on-door or in-home repair under this AMC. A technician is not sent to your house. The appliance must be brought by you, or by a person you send, to the service centre named in the repair acknowledgement, and collected from that centre when the work is finished.
The service centre address is [service centre address]. If that line is still blank when you ask for a repair, the acknowledgement email will name the centre before you are asked to travel. Do not bring an appliance to a shop that the acknowledgement has not named.
3. Price
The fee is 3% of the GST-inclusive item total of the order, rounded to the nearest paise by the server and shown before you pay. GST on the maintenance service is included in that percentage at 18%. The fee is charged once, with the order, and is not a monthly subscription. It is listed on the Volt_Tronic service invoice after delivery, separate from the seller’s invoice for the goods. The downloadable bill shows the taxable value and the GST for delivery and for the AMC.
The percentage does not change after you have paid that order. A later change to these terms applies only to an order placed after the new version is published.
4. When cover starts and ends
Cover starts at activation. Activation is the date and time the order is marked delivered in Volt_Tronic, in India Standard Time. Cover then runs for 12 months. It ends at the same clock time on that anniversary. There is no cover before delivery, and there is no automatic renewal. The purchase time, the activation time and the expiry are stored on a separate record for each product.
If the order contains more than one product, each product is covered only while that product’s order remains delivered and this contract has not ended for that product under sections 11 or 13.
5. What the AMC does
During that year, a breakdown that stops or materially impairs the ordinary domestic use of a covered product is repaired at the service centre, if the breakdown is not excluded below. For each such fault the contract includes:
- diagnosis at the service centre;
- labour for the covered repair; and
- the functional electrical or mechanical spare part required to restore that ordinary use.
There is no limit on the number of covered faults in the year. A covered fault that returns is looked at again. The contract does not promise a same-day repair, a loaner unit, or a brand-new replacement as the first remedy.
This is why the plan is offered. A single repair bill for a covered board, motor, or compressor can be more than the AMC fee. The fee is the price of shifting that covered repair cost onto this contract, instead of paying again for each covered fault. It does not replace the manufacturer’s warranty, and it does not replace the return window on the product.
6. What is not covered
Not everything is covered. The plan pays only for a genuine internal electrical or mechanical failure that stops ordinary domestic use and is not in the list below. Cosmetic wear, a mark, a scratch, fading, or a part that still works is not a covered failure. The following are outside the contract, and a quoted price applies before any such work is done:
- Physical damage. Cracks, dents, bends, breakage, liquid spill, immersion, pest or rodent attack, rust from damp storage, missing screws or panels, and any mark of impact or drop.
- Misuse and the wrong conditions. Commercial or industrial use, use outdoors of an indoor appliance, a supply voltage the product is not rated for, blocked vents, running without water or with a blocked drain, ignored error locks, or any use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Electrical surges and supply events. Damage from a high-voltage surge, lightning, an unstable supply, a wrong phase, or a failed external stabilizer. Fitting a stabilizer does not bring surge damage inside this contract.
- Consumables and parts that are used up. Filters, bulbs and lamps that are consumable, batteries, fuses blown by a surge, refrigerant gas top-up, oils, grease, descalers, and similar items that are replaced in ordinary use.
- Accessories. Remotes, stands, wall mounts, cables, chargers sold as accessories, manuals, decorative trim, and anything that was not the appliance itself.
- Cabinets, plastics and glass. Outer cabinets, doors and lids where the defect is cosmetic or structural, plastic fascias, knobs that have been broken off, glass shelves, glass lids, ceramic tops damaged by impact or a fall, and display glass cracked by force. A failed electrical switch or lock is still considered under section 5 when the failure is not from impact, liquid, or a surge.
- Software and data. Operating systems, apps, accounts, passwords, and any data on a phone, computer or television. Back up your data before you bring the product in. The service centre does not restore data.
- Work done elsewhere. A product opened, repaired, or modified by any person other than the service centre named in a Volt_Tronic approval, or the brand’s own authorised centre, where that work caused or hid the fault. A bill for work that was not approved first is not paid, even if the fault would otherwise have been covered.
- Identity of the unit. A product whose serial number or IMEI, where it has one, does not match the unit delivered on the order, or whose serial plate has been removed.
- Events outside ordinary use. Fire, flood, theft, riot, or any loss of the product while it is not inside the service centre.
- Installation and shifting. Fitting, unfitting, wall mounting, gas charging as a fresh installation, and moving the appliance between rooms or houses.
A pre-existing fault, a missing accessory, or excluded damage is recorded when the product is accepted. That record decides the claim. Cosmetic wear that does not stop ordinary use is not a breakdown.
7. Getting the appliance to the service centre and back
You arrange transport both ways, at your own cost. The risk of loss or damage during that journey is yours. Damage caused in transit is physical damage and is not a covered repair.
Bring the product, the order number, and, where the product has one, the serial number or IMEI. Leave out food, water, and loose personal items. A washing machine, refrigerator, or air conditioner must be emptied and made safe to carry before you travel.
After the service centre tells you the product is ready, collect it within 15 days. While the product is inside the service centre for a booked repair, the centre is responsible for keeping it with reasonable care. That duty does not cover a fault that was already excluded when the product was accepted.
8. How to ask for service
Write to [email protected] with the order number, the product name, a short description of the fault, the serial number or IMEI if there is one, and photographs of the product and of the fault. The service centre replies with whether the description appears to be a covered fault, the service centre to use, and when you may bring it in. The final decision is made after inspection at the centre, not from the email alone.
Do not send a UPI PIN, card number, or bank OTP in that email. Volt_Tronic does not need them to book a repair.
9. No repair without prior approval
A repair under this contract starts only after Volt_Tronic sends a written approval for that product, that fault, and that service centre. The approval names the centre and the amount Volt_Tronic will clear. You, a seller, or any repair shop must not start paid work, order a part, or incur a bill before that approval.
If the product is repaired independently, or a bill is sent after the work is already done, Volt_Tronic will not reimburse that bill. Asking for service is not an approval. An inspection that finds an excluded fault is not an approval to repair it under this contract.
10. What Volt_Tronic will pay toward a bill
Volt_Tronic clears a covered repair only up to the amount in the written approval for that visit. That amount will not be higher than the price you paid for that product on the order. The approval can be lower than the product price when the estimate is lower.
If the service centre finds that a covered repair will cost more than the approved amount, it stops. Volt_Tronic will not raise the payment unless it sends a new written approval first. If the extra cost is still a covered fault but above the product price, the claim for that excess is not paid under this contract unless you agree, by email before the work continues, to pay the excess yourself. If you do not agree, you can collect the product. Work already within the approved amount remains covered. Work done past the approved amount without that new approval is not paid by Volt_Tronic.
11. Work at the service centre
If inspection shows a covered fault, the repair proceeds under this contract and you are not billed again for that covered labour and those covered parts. If inspection shows an excluded fault, the centre will tell you the price before doing that work. You may refuse the excluded work and collect the product.
Parts replaced under the contract become the property of the service centre. Parts used may be new or serviceable replacements of comparable function. The contract does not promise a part from a named brand unless the repair cannot be completed without it.
If a covered fault cannot be repaired, Volt_Tronic will refund the portion of the AMC fee that corresponds to that product and cover for that product ends. The contract does not, by itself, require a new appliance to be supplied.
12. Brand warranty, returns, and the Consumer Protection Act
The manufacturer’s warranty, where it applies, is used first and is carried out on the brand’s terms, which may include the brand’s own service centre. This AMC does not shorten that warranty and does not remove a right under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including a right that the law does not allow a contract to waive.
The Returns and Refunds Policy is a separate process. A repair under this AMC is not a return, and a return is not automatically an AMC claim.
13. When the fee is refunded
The AMC fee is refunded, and cover does not start, if the order is cancelled before delivery or if the product is refunded under the returns policy. On a replacement, cover moves to the replacement unit and activation is the delivery of that replacement unit.
After activation, the fee is not refunded merely because you do not make a claim, except where section 11 requires a refund for a product that cannot be repaired, or where the law requires a refund.
14. Role of Volt_Tronic and limitation of liability
Volt_Tronic acts as the technology facilitator and as the provider of this maintenance plan. Independent shops list and sell the goods. A service centre that Volt_Tronic names performs the repair. To the extent Indian law allows, Volt_Tronic is not the manufacturer and is not liable for a manufacturing defect, for the seller’s description of the goods, or for the time a service centre takes to finish an approved repair. Those limits do not apply where the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or another Indian law, does not allow them.
The obligation under this contract is the covered repair described above. To the extent Indian law allows, Volt_Tronic and the service centre are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including spoiled food, lost wages, lost business, or lost data. Nothing in this contract limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any liability that the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or another Indian law, does not allow to be limited.
Where a monetary cap is allowed by law, liability for a product under this AMC is limited to the price you paid for that product on the order.
15. Complaints and disputes
Write first to [email protected] with the order number. The grievance officer is [name], [postal address], phone [number]. These details are published from the admin business page when they are saved. You may also call the National Consumer Helpline on 1915.
This contract is governed by the laws of India. You may take an unresolved dispute to the consumer commission that has jurisdiction under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. These terms do not require arbitration and do not take away that forum.
